Star Registry Certificate
Each certificate comes with a unique serialized hologram. This number is never duplicated. Astronomy.co.uk reserve the right to alter the style and design of the hologram without notice. Certificates are typically printed on a 25% cotton blended ivory parchment paper, we reserve the right to change the type of paper if our current brand and/or blend becomes unavailable, should this occur these terms and conditions will be updated accordingly as well as the product page to reflect any changes. The certificate comes complete with an A4 size scroll box, size 220 x 56 x 50mm or 220 x 56 x 40mm depending on availability, and typically made from colourplan 350gsm board. Scroll box colour is typically matt black but may be altered dependent on availability. Chosen stars are of magnitude 6 or higher and, therefore will require binoculars or a telescope to view depending on sky conditions, light pollution and location. Astronomy.co.uk generate a placemark data file to help you to view your star and star details on Google Sky and Google Earth. Our Star Naming Service set is a novelty gift item, the star names have symbolic meaning only and no scientific recognition of the star name, nor legal title, is inferred or implied. Astronomy.co.uk is not affiliated with Google Sky or any of its products and, as such, the data file placemark service can be discontinued at anytime by Google; in such an event Astronomy.co.uk will not be liable for any rebate or financial compensation of any kind. Your star name and details will remain available to you in the Universal Star Registry database. By purchasing a gift set, you confirm that you understand and accept these terms. Astronomy.co.uk guarantees it will not duplicate the assigned Star and that registration will occur within, as maintained by Astronomy.co.uk, the Universal Star Registry. Astronomy.co.uk has no control over assignments made by other companies or by any scientific, governmental, or other body.
Make sure you are happy with the star name you choose. If, for example you choose to name your star "Mary" then "Mary" is what will be printed on the certificate, NOT "Mary's Star", if you wish the latter then you must enter the name as such. You may choose to have a short message printed on the certificate. Astronomy.co.uk will not be responsible for any spelling or grammatical errors. It is important that you verify your message is exactly what you want to say before purchasing. We use specialized fonts and we will use artistic license to decide how the message is formatted on the certificate. We will also use different colours on some words such as the recipient's name, the occasion and who the message is from. Capitalization will be used at the beginning of the phrase and on recipient names and any words we judge to be of emphasis. If you write your message all in capitalized letters it will NOT be printed as such due to the nature of the specialized fonts we use for capitalization. We reserve the right to refuse any messages we deem to be inappropriate, in such cases you will be informed by email before your order is processed. When purchasing the certificate you agree to these terms and conditions before checking out.
